Good Advice from the Editor

The Winston-Salem Journal editorial March 11 about an attempt by the Forsyth County Board of County Commissioners to exert power over the Health Department and its director, Dr. Tim Monroe, is right on target.

The editor says: "The appointment process gives the board of commissioners all the control it needs over the board of health. Its push for more control seems rooted in a desire to muzzle Monroe, who is doing a good job. Legislators should reject the commissioners' proposal."
